This paper is still the premier newspaper of America. They give us important book reviews, including the ever-important NY Time Best-seller list. Thier Editorial and Opinion pages are scrutinized by the entire mass-media, and their theatre reviews can make or break a Broadway Stage production or even a Hollywood movie.
BUT….their editorial turn from the :center is universally acknowledged and their circulation is rapidly shrinking as they seemingly pander more to the extreme left, leaving the avarage American discusted by thier seeming political bias.

Socrates…not so smart…many observers, including O’Reilly, note that viewership and paper circulation drop dramatically as the media source move further to the left….you state just the opposite…if a lib paper of network want to increase rating or circulation…they move to the right…which almost never happens, they sacrifice profit for Ideology’s sake!
Raider Mike’s observation only proves this, a feeble attempt to attract con readers…but Bill Cyrstal is a RINO like McCain who thinks the Republicans can acctually work with Dems and Libs.
Chrystal is a RINO, and Remember Mr. Murdock also signs paychecks of Renaldo Riveran and Alan Colmes….so I’m sure that makes them Reaganites too!

The NYT is really liberal. They rarely take a conservative stand.
I read the times because their writing tends to be good and when it comes to international news, they are good. Not a lot of paper cover the rest of the world, if at all.

Think about it for a sec. All media (T.V., newspapers, Internet, radio, magazines…etc.) are corporate owned. They might wander to the left on occasion to help beef up circulation or ratings, but their hearts and souls belong to super rich, far right conservatives. That’s why you’ll hear more about the gang member knocking over a liquor store than you will about the Waltons of Wal mart exploiting Chinese factory workers. How many multibillionaire/flower children can you name?
Virtually every mainstream media source has a bias because the people running the mainstream media are people and have their own political beliefs.
It is a respectable newspaper organization.
If the New York Times is controlled by the left, why would they hire uber neocon Bill Kristol as an op-ed writer?

I suppose they are controlled by the Left just as the Wall Street Journal is controlled by the Right. If you don’t like it, don’t read.
The New York Crimes paper is only an exclamation point away from “communism” ! For the Liberal Socialist on here trying to justify The NY Crime is not Left wing liberally loony bias` because they hired Bill Crystal ; NOT ! They hired him in hopes of picking up conservative readers and increasing their falling reader base, because of double digit % losses in advertising and circulation !!! There just isn`t enough people with birds in cages to keep the N.Y. Crimes circulation profitable ! Oh` Yeah , BTW , They now have Dan “Lying Forger” Rather saying the N.Y.
